Announcing the 2026 International Trumpet Guild Recording Awards

September 4, 2025 – The International Trumpet Guild (ITG) is proud to announce the 2026 International Trumpet Guild Recording Awards, sponsored by Pickett Blackburn. Now in their second year, these awards celebrate excellence in trumpet performance and recording across two distinct categories: Classical and Jazz/Improvised Music.

Recordings eligible for submission must have been released between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2025. Entries will be evaluated blindly by two separate juries composed of distinguished trumpet performers. This year’s juries include several 2025 ITG Recording Award medalists, whose artistry and insight bring exceptional depth to the selection process. Among them are Dave Douglas, Terell Stafford, Lex French, and Chad McCullough in the Jazz/Improvised Music division, and Andy Kozar in the Classical division.

“We are excited to continue the tradition of the ITG Recording Awards in partnership with Pickett Blackburn,” says Ryan Gardner, President of the International Trumpet Guild. “These awards celebrate the extraordinary artistry and innovation within the trumpet community, honoring outstanding achievements in both classical and jazz/improvised music.”

The ITG Recording Awards aim to spotlight exceptional trumpet recordings that demonstrate the highest levels of musicianship, technical mastery, and artistic or technological innovation. Winners will receive recognition from their peers and have their recordings featured prominently across ITG platforms, reaching a global audience of trumpet enthusiasts, musicians, and educators. Winners will be honored at the 2026 ITG Conference in Rochester, New York.

Submission Deadline:
Recordings must be submitted by 11:59 PM EST on December 31, 2025.
