International Trumpet Guild Launches the ITG Podcast
December 2025 — The International Trumpet Guild (ITG) is proud to announce the launch of the International Trumpet Guild Podcast, a new audio series designed to connect, inspire, and inform trumpet players around the world.
The podcast will officially debut in December 2025, with a dynamic pilot season featuring influential artists, educators, and leaders from across the global trumpet community.
Accessible to both ITG members and the general public, the ITG Podcast will further the organization’s mission by promoting international communication, offering educational resources, and highlighting the diverse voices and stories that shape the trumpet world today.
Connecting with the Global Trumpet Community
In addition to connecting the global trumpet community to the history and activities of the ITG, the ITG Podcast aims to feature world class trumpet players and illuminate the personal journeys behind their artistry. Each episode will blend conversation, storytelling, and recurring questions that help listeners discover who these musicians are—not just what they do.
Exploring topics such as the history of ITG, how to get involved in ITG, audition preparation, artistic growth, personal setbacks, teaching philosophies, and career-defining experiences, the series will resonate with students, educators, and professionals alike. By showcasing a wide spectrum of backgrounds and perspectives, the podcast seeks to broaden how listeners understand trumpet playing across genres, cultures, and generations.
Featured Guests of the Pilot Season
The inaugural episodes will spotlight prominent figures whose contributions have shaped—and continue to shape—the modern trumpet landscape:
- David Hickman — Founding/charter ITG member, featured in the History of ITG episode
- Jason Dovel & Ryan Gardner — Current ITG President and Past President, discussing ITG Today, membership benefits, and pathways to involvement
- Matilda Lloyd — International soloist known for her artistry and expanding the trumpet repertoire
- Karen Donnelly — Principal Trumpet of the National Arts Centre Orchestra
- Tom Hooten — Principal Trumpet of the Los Angeles Philharmonic
Format, Release Schedule, and Vision
Episodes will run approximately 30–45 minutes and will be released on a regular schedule. Each installment will feature:
Throughout the first season, hosting duties will rotate among the five-member ITG Podcast Committee, reflecting the organization's belief that there is no single voice of ITG, but rather a united and diverse community of musicians.
Future special series may include “Road to Conference,” “One Question, Many Voices,” and behind-the-scenes discussions with ITG leadership.
The ITG Podcast Committee welcomes feedback about the first season, so that future seasons can be even better. (Contact information located below.)
Building Global Connection Through Accessible Media
The ITG Podcast will be distributed for free through Spotify and other major listening platforms. Episodes will be recorded using StreamYard’s professional-livestream software, allowing for consistent audio quality, branded visuals, and the creation of social media clips for Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
Designed with accessibility in mind, the podcast will also include multilingual outreach and English transcripts whenever possible.
Long-Term Growth
