Brian Neal to Lamont School of Music

Brian Neal has been appointed as the new full-time Professor of Trumpet at the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver, beginning Fall 2025.

A dynamic and multifaceted musician, Mr. Neal has captivated audiences worldwide as a member of the internationally renowned Dallas Brass, performing across the United States, Europe, and Russia. His symphonic credits include collaborations with the Utah Symphony under Keith Lockhart and the Florida Philharmonic under Peter Nero, among others. As a soloist, he has appeared with the California Symphony, Miami Wind Symphony, Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, and many others, most recently performing the Haydn Trumpet Concerto with the Youngstown Symphony. His chamber music experience extends to his active role with the Sitka Brass, an ensemble comprised of top brass musicians from major orchestras across the country.

In addition to his performance career, Mr. Neal is a dedicated educator who has spent the past 14 years on faculty at Miami Dade College, inspiring and mentoring trumpet students. His passion for music education has led him to work with hundreds of school band programs across the nation, leading clinics, masterclasses, and performances. As an advocate for the trumpet world, he has been a fellow at major music festivals such as Tanglewood and the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival and has collaborated with some of the world's leading conductors, including Charles Dutoit, Simon Rattle, Seiji Ozawa, and Michael Tilson Thomas.

Upon his appointment, Mr. Neal shared his excitement, stating, "I am honored to join the faculty at the Lamont School of Music as the new Professor of Trumpet.
