Stephen Wadsack to Wright State University

Stephen Wadsack has been appointed Instructor of Trumpet at Wright State University (WSU) in Dayton, Ohio, beginning Fall 2022. At WSU, Wadsack will teach the trumpet studio, direct the WSU Jazz Ensemble, and perform in the WSU Faculty Brass Quintet.

Since 2018, Wadsack has served as a lecturer, applied trumpet instructor, and Director of Athletic Bands at Wilmington College. In 2021, Wadsack concurrently joined the faculty at Thomas More University as adjunct assistant professor of trumpet.

A busy performer and educator, Wadsack has performed and given masterclasses throughout the United States, both as a soloist and chamber musician. An active member of ITG, he will present the session College Auditions “Do’s & Don’ts”: Finding Your Dream School, & Making Sure You Get In! at the 2022 ITG Conference in San Antonio, and will serve as a Coach for the ITG Youth Competition. In April, Wadsack was a paper presenter and performer at the North American Baroque Trumpet Conference and Competition (2022). As a freelance musician, he has recently performed with the Dayton Philharmonic (OH), Lexington Philharmonic (KY), Springfield Symphony (OH), and Richmond Symphony (IN).

Wadsack holds a BM from the University of Wyoming, MM from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and is presently completing a DMA at the University of Kentucky.
